Get Your Certification

Lifeguard Training ($170)

This course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare participants to prevent injuries and drowning, recognize as well as respond quickly and effectively to aquatic emergencies.
Prerequisites:
• Minimum age of 15 years
• Swim 300 yards using breaststroke and front crawl with rhythmic breathing
• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7 - 10 feet, bring a 10 pound diving brick to the surface, return 20 yards to the starting point and exit the water without using ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

All sessions must be attended with successful completion of all components for certification to be issued.

Waterfront Lifeguard Training ($170)

This course gives participants the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to emergencies at both waterfront and pool facilities.Prerequisites:
• Minimum age of 15
• Swim 550 yards using breaststroke and front crawl with rhythmic breathing
• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7 - 10 feet, bring a 10 pound diving brick to the surface, return 20 yards to the starting point and exit the water without using ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
• Swim 5 yards, submerge and retrieve three diving rings placed 5 yards apart in 4-7 ft. of water, resurface and swim 5 yards to the side of the pool.

Lifeguard Management ($50)

This course covers the responsibilities of a lifeguard supervisor, the selection and training of lifeguards, team building, principles of injury prevention, risk management and emergency response planning. Current Lifeguard certification is strongly encouraged. Lifeguard Management participant manual is included.

Waterfront Lifeguarding Bridge ($125)

This course allows current lifeguards to expand their skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to emergencies at a waterfront facility. Includes CPR/PR/AED/O2 training.
Prerequisites:
• ARC Lifeguard Training Certificate
• ARC CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Certificate or CPR for Lifeguards
• Minimum age of 15
• Swim 550 yards using breaststroke and front crawl with rhythmic breathing
• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7 - 10 feet, bring a 10 pound diving brick to the surface, return 20 yards to the starting point and exit the water without using ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
• Swim 5 yards, submerge and retrieve three diving rings placed 5 yards apart in 4-7 ft. of water, resurface and swim 5 yards to the side of the pool.

Renew Your Certification

Lifeguard Review ($100)

Includes CPR/AED/PR/O2
This course is designed to give individuals the opportunity to review the course contents within a formal class setting.
Prerequisites:
• Current ARC Lifeguard and First Aid CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate
• Swim 300 yards using breaststroke and front crawl with rhythmic breathing
• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7 - 10 feet, bring a 10 pound diving brick to the surface, return 20 yards to the starting point and exit the water without using ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

Must bring pocket mask and Lifeguarding participant manual to the class.

Become an Instructor

Lifeguard Instructor ($200)

This course trains candidates to teach Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, O2 Administration, AED, Preventing Disease Transmission, Community Water Safety and Lifeguard Instructor Aide by developing an understanding of how to use course materials, methods of conducting training sessions and evaluating progress.

Prerequisites:
• Minimum age of 17
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate
• Pass preliminary swimming test
• Pass preliminary written test

Must bring pocket mask and Lifeguarding participant manual to the class.  All sessions must be attended with successful completion of all components for certification to be issued.
